Cam Smith brings warmth, precision, and a deep commitment to client service in her role as New Business Manager at Hodges Burke Financial. Since joining the team in 2014, Cam has become an essential part of the firm’s day-to-day operations, helping clients navigate the onboarding and underwriting process with clarity and care.
Before entering the financial services industry, Cam built a successful career as a recruiter for a large regional law firm and later held administrative roles in professional services. Her background in people-focused work, combined with her exceptional organizational skills, made her a natural fit when founder David Hodges was looking for someone to manage his complex schedule and client communications. David knew Cam’s professionalism and personable nature would elevate the client experience.
Cam embraced the challenge of learning a new industry and quickly became a trusted resource for both clients and colleagues. She is known for her attention to detail, her ability to keep processes running smoothly, and her genuine enjoyment of helping others. “This is a great team of intelligent, capable people, and everyone has a great sense of humor, which makes it a delightful place to work,” Cam says.
In addition to her client-facing role, Cam plays a key part in managing the policy underwriting process. She reviews applications, coordinates with insurance carriers, and ensures that clients stay informed from start to finish. Her behind-the-scenes work helps maintain the high standards of service that Hodges Burke Financial is known for.
Cam is a graduate of Clemson University. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Cam and her husband, Emory, have been married for almost 40 years and have two grown children, Walker and Carter. Cam is a Sustainer of the Junior League of Columbia and actively volunteers at her church, most recently serving as Hospitality Ministers Chair and assisting with children’s liturgy. She and Emory also share their home with Peak, their beloved 12-year-old beagle.
